Who owns fake news?

“Singapore to Demand That Facebook, Twitter and Google Fix Fake News,” The Wall Street Journal, April 2, 2019.  Draft law would require platform owners to post corrections and tell users when false information is published on their sites.

In the absence of global regulation, individual nations (and nation states) are filling the gap, where publishers have not taken these steps voluntarily.  So, you have aspects of Governance and Compliance (if and when the law gets passed).  So the person who makes money from the fake news has to pay to limit it.
