Words have consequences

“House GOP Removes Steve King From Panels Following Comments on White Supremacy,” The Wall Street Journal, January 15, 2019.  Congressman King penalized for saying, “White nationalist, white supremacist, Western civilization—how did that language become offensive?”

Governance: removing someone from leadership roles based on what he/she said.  But is this standard applied uniformly?  Since when?

Was this information (the words) taken out of context?  Does it matter?
