Email and your boss

Bosses struggle with the email deluge as much as we do. But do they complicate things by answering too concisely? Or do we hear imprecisely?

Everything your boss does has meaning; perhaps more than he or she meant. But direct reports looks for clues everywhere, and everything the boss says or does may be analyzed. Are your direct reports mystified or confused by what to you seem like clear directions? Does the message get lost in the medium? What’s email good for? What’s it used for?
