Internet insecurity

So now ads you get on the web can carry malicious code that infects your computer and steals your banking data.  These ads can come from ad companies with no fixed address or from ad companies whose accounts have themselves been hacked.

What happens if no one opens ads anymore?  Are there malicious ads that don’t require opening to do the nasty?

So, you’re a company depending on ad revenue.  How do you control (i.e., avoid) this?  Lots of screening?  How do you mitigate it if it happens?
