Knowledge is money, and money is knowledge

Is money “information”?  “Bitcoin Poses Test to Law Enforcement,” Wall Street Journal, October 23, 2013 A3 http://on.wsj.com/19w5DdK

Does virtual currency fit the definition of “information”?  I am not sure, but the question came to when reading the article about law enforcement’s effort to fight crime.  If you use Bitcoin, are you dodgy? That’s one aspect.  But is virtual money information?  If so, why?  If not, why not?
