Let’s see.  You allegedly falsify test results in a crime lab and puff up your resume.  Up to 40,00 trials affected.  To impress your co-workers.  Facing 7 years in jail, may get only one.  And her marriage ended.

Information has value, as does reliability.  Do you need more policies?  Why did this happen, and go on for so long?
