Conviction for teaching deception technique

Person who taught others how to beat lie detectors convicted of felony obstruction of justice. Houston Chronicle, September 7, 2013 A4

Is this teaching someone to lie or how to lie?  Is there a difference? What about the First Amendment?

The reason I post this here is to highlight that some information is “bad.”  And sharing it is “badder.”  Apparently.  Even though lie detectors are too unreliable to be admissible evidence, unlike teeth marks. (see yesterday’s post)
